Santa Rosa, CA — Educators from throughout the Bay Area will be learning about Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones) and their uses in industry and education at the Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Bay Area Drone Symposium. The public is welcome to join them on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, when they will have the opportunity to see a drone demonstration, as well as talk with drone pilots, teachers, and vendors. The free demonstration will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Milo Baker Hall on SRJC’s Santa Rosa campus. Free parking will be available in SRJC’s Don Zumwalt Parking Pavilion.
Designed to help spread the word about the responsible use of drones, the conference will feature:
- Curriculum development workshops
- Educational sessions
- Vendor exhibits
- Drone Try it/Fly it area
- Information about SRJC’s drone course (coming Fall 2017)
The conference, along with the development of a drone training course at SRJC, is funded by a regional grant from the California Community College Strong Workforce Program grant.
Both the conference and drone course are presented by the SRJC Computer Studies Department.
