Santa Rosa, CA — Sonoma County students have submitted various short films for the ninth annual Sonoma County Student Film Festival. Winning films will be shown to the public on Friday April 7, 2017 at the Carole L. Ellis Auditorium at SRJC Petaluma. The free event will include a student mixer party, open to all students, beginning at 6 p.m. Film screenings will begin at 7 p.m. The Sonoma County Student Film Festival will also highlight the filmmaking program at SRJC.
Student filmmakers invited to screen at the event will receive passes to attend Film Fest Petaluma, Sonoma County’s premier international short films festival, held on May 6, 2017 at the historic Mystic Theatre in downtown Petaluma.
Students with films designated as “Best of Show” will also be invited to screen in Film Fest Petaluma, where they can network and engage with industry professionals from around the world.
The Sonoma County Student Film Festival is the result of collaboration between the SRJC Student Affairs and Communication Studies departments.

Show times: 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m.
Nearly 40 short films from countries across the world will be screened at the ninth annual Film Fest Petaluma. The festival will give visitors a sampling of award-winning shorts from prestigious international festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, and Sundance. Each of the four programs offers a variety of animation, live action, and documentary content as well as a discussion with the filmmakers.
