Assemblymember Marc Levine to Host Civics Camp at SRJC April 23

March 18, 2015— Assemblymember Marc Levine (D-San Rafael) will host a Civics Camp, from 5 pm to 8:30 pm , for high school and college students in Newman Auditorium on April 23. This event will provide an opportunity for North Bay youth to connect with community leaders for a night of celebration and learning that includes dinner and live music. The event will encourage local young people to take an interest in their communities, in ways that stretch beyond the typical teenage experience. SRJC Pharmacy Tech Program to Host Informational Session, April 11

March 17, 2015— The SRJC pharmacy technology program will be holding an informational session on Saturday, April 11th, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in room 4044 of the Race Health Science Building on the Santa Rosa campus. The free session will provide helpful information for anyone interested in the program, the career path, and the counseling and financial aid resources available to them. Parking permits are required daily and are available for $4 in campus lots.

SRJC Football to Serve Up Fun and Great Food with Luau Party Fundraiser at Shone Farm, April 11

March 16, 2015 - On April 11, the SRJC Football team will host their 2015 fundraiser in the form of a luau party at Shone Farm. This year’s event will include traditional Hawaiian cuisine, entertainment and desserts. Proceeds will benefit the SRJC Football team. Tickets are $50 per person and will feature dinner, wine, entertainment, as well as live and silent auctions. Hoofbeats in the Vineyard, Equestrian Benefit on April 18 at SRJC’s shone farm

March 10, 2015 — On April 18 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., SRJC Shone Farm will host Hoofbeats in the Vineyard, an afternoon filled with horses, wine, and shopping. The afternoon will include horse performances, educational speakers, live demonstrations, a silent auction, Shone Farm wine and olive oil tasting, and horse related vendors. This is a benefit event to support the horses, students and programs of Equi-Ed Therapeutic Equestrian Program in Santa Rosa, and the Shone Farm Equestrian program of SRJC.

SRJC Bennett Friedman Quartet, April 3

Mar. 9, 2015—On April 3, SRJC will host a jazz concert from the Bennett Friedman Quartet on Friday, April 3, at 8 p.m. in Newman Auditorium. Proceeds benefits the SRJC Foundation Jazz Studies Fund. General Admission is $10, or $5 for students and seniors. Tickets sold only at the door. The concert will feature Joe Gilman on piano, Robb Fisher on bass, and drummer Lorca Hart.

Santa Rosa Junior College Dedicates Rotary Center For Student Leadership

March 5, 2015—Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) President/Superintendent Dr. Frank Chong and Rotary 5130 District Governor Kevin Eisenberg hosted representatives from the 19 participating local Rotary Clubs, two Rotaract Clubs and individual donors at the dedication of the Rotary Center for Student Leadership in the Lawrence A. Bertolini Student Center on March 4.

Film Screening & Fourth Annual “Matters Of The Heart” Conference, Feb. 27 & 28

Feb. 19, 2015—The SRJC Foster & Kinship Care Education Program presents a free film screening of Dr. Ira Chasnoff’s documentary film, "Moment to Moment: Teens Growing Up With FASDs” (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders), on February 27 in Newman Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. with a follow-up discussion. On February 28, FKCE will host their fourth annual foster and kinship education conference with the reoccurring theme of “Matters of the Heart” featuring guest speaker Dr. Chasnoff.
