SRJC Named "2016 Great College to Work For"

August 16, 2016 — According to a recent survey conducted by The Chronicle of Higher Education,SRJC is one of the best colleges to work for in the nation for the fourth consecutive year, that is every year that SRJC has participated in the survey. SRJC is one of two California community colleges to earn this distinction and one of only 12 community colleges nationwide to be named on the Honor Roll.

SRJC Purchasing Receives AEP Award

August 10, 2016—The SRJC Purchasing Department is the recipient of the prestigious 21st Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) Award from the National Procurement Institute (NPI), Inc. The award is granted in recognition of the work SRJC Purchasing is doing establishing practices that promote innovation, professionalism, e-procurement and productivity.

SRJC to Welcome Students with Free Food, Live Music, & College Services

July 27, 2016 —SRJC Student Affairs & Engagement Programs invites students to get a jump start on their fall semester by attending this year’s new and returning student orientation at Welcome Day 2016. The Santa Rosa campus event will take place on Thursday, August 18th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Petaluma campus event will take place on Saturday, August 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Exchange Bank Contributes $100,000 Lead Challenge Gift to SRJC 100th Anniversary Campaign - Four Community Leaders Immediately Match the Gift

June 2, 2016 – Exchange Bank has made a generous lead challenge gift of $100,000 to the SRJC 100th Anniversary Campaign. Four loyal supporters and community leaders have stepped forward early in the Campaign to meet the challenge: American AgCredit, Sarah and Darius Anderson, The Codding Foundation, and Clover Stornetta Farms.

Farm Stand Opens in SRJC Neighborhood

May 31, 2016 — The SRJC Farm Stand opened on May 5th at the corner of Mendocino Avenue and Carr Avenue. Community members can now enjoy “Shone Grown” products – vegetables, fruit, olive oil and grass-fed beef, as well as plants from the horticulture department. SRJC’s Shone Farm hopes to provide students, staff, and the SRJC neighborhood community the opportunity to share the results of their labor. The farm stand is open Wednesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., every week, whether the college is in session or not.

June 9: SRJC Petaluma to Host Fifth Annual Building Community Breakfast

May 24, 2016— The SRJC Friends of Petaluma Campus Trust is presenting the fifth annual Building Community Breakfast on Thursday, June 9 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Business, education, nonprofit and community leaders are expected to attend. The breakfast takes place in SRJC Petaluma’s Physical Fitness Center located at 680 Sonoma Mountain Parkway.

Doyle Scholarship Application Period Extended to June 30

May 16, 2016 — The SRJC Scholarship Office recently announced a new opportunity for local high school seniors from the Class of 2016 to apply for Doyle Scholarships or Doyle Trustee Awards of up to $1000 to attend SRJC during the 2016-17 academic year. The 2016-17 Doyle Scholarship application, which initially closed on March 13, is being reopened for a brief period, from May 13 through June 30.

SRJC Graduation Speakers to Feature NASA's Dr. Douglas Hofmann and Alexandra Dubinin

May 11, 2016 — SRJC's main graduation ceremony on May 28 will feature SRJC alumnus Dr. Douglas Hofmann, the Principal Investigator of the Materials Development and Manufacturing Technology Group at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Dr. Hofmann is also a Visiting Associate and Lecturer in Applied Physics and Materials Science at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He graduated from SRJC in 2001 with both A.A. and A.S. degrees. He was also ranked in the top ten in the state while playing tennis for SRJC, under coach Izzy Derkos, recently inducted into the SRJC Athletic Hall of Fame.
