Santa Rosa, CA — Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) is pleased to announce the grand opening of the MI CASA (Multicultural Innovation Center for Academic Success and Achievement) on Monday, April 3rd, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The free ceremony will take place in A. M. Garcia Hall (room 860) on SRJC’s Santa Rosa campus. All students and members of the community are invited to come learn more about the center’s services and enjoy the opening ceremony. Speakers will include SRJC President/Superintendent Dr. Frank Chong and US Representative Mike Thompson (CA-5).
MI CASA will serve as a dedicated space where students can drop in, receive help, access computers and printers, and form connections with other students. The center is made up of two main parts, a social space and study space. Both spaces within the center will allow students to study and socialize (both important aspects of college life). The vision for MI CASA is to form a warm and welcoming place for all SRJC students, as part of the Hispanic Serving Institution META4 initiative and grant.
Special recognition to the MI CASA Committee which has worked over two years to ensure the vision of MI CASA became a reality. Parking permits are required and available for $4 in campus lots.
